MET Gala 2022 Dates & Theme: Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King To Host
The annual Met Gala, which benefits the Costume Institute at the Met, was canceled a couple of times during the COVID-19 pandemic. After being canceled in 2020 and 2021, it is set to return this year. Often referred to as ‘fashion’s biggest night out,’ the Met Gala opens the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. Met Gala, 2022 Host:
Met Gala has invited four big talents this year to bring forth the event. Vanessa Friedman, the New York Times’ chief fashion critic, reports that Regina King, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Lin-Manuel Miranda will host the event alongside Tom Ford, Adam Mosseri, and Anna Wintour.
Met Gala, 2022 Theme:
The theme for this year’s Met Gala is ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’, the second installment of the institution’s two-part homage to the history of American fashion. In September 2021, the first exhibition opened honoring some of the greatest American designers, including Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, and Calvin Klein. According to Vanessa Friedman, the theme will be “Gilded Glamour.”
Met Gala Date:
The Met Gala is normally held on the first week of May every year, and this year, returning after a hiatus of two years, it will take place on May 2.
