Derrick Henry Injury Update: Week 14 Status Of Titans RB
(CTN News) – During their Week 13 Derrick Henry defeat to the Indianapolis Colts, the Tennessee Titans suffered the loss of several key players, including running back Derrick Henry.
Derrick Henry was forced to leave the game in the fourth quarter after taking a hard hit that resulted in him being evaluated for a concussion. Unfortunately, he did not return to the game and was replaced by rookie Tyjae Spears, who performed admirably in his absence.
For those participating in fantasy football, it would be wise to pick up Spears if he is available on the waiver wire, as he will likely be the next player up if Derrick Henry is unable to play. Spears, a Tulane product, had an impressive 19 touches for 88 yards (76 rushing) during Week 13.
Spears is currently the only running back on the Titans’ active roster, with Jonathan Ward being on the practice squad.
If Henry is unable to play, Tennessee will likely acquire another running back during the week. However, Henry still has a full week of practice before the Titans have to decide on his status.
Additionally, Tennessee has an extra day this week due to their Monday night game against the Miami Dolphins. Stay tuned for further updates on Derrick Henry’s condition leading up to the Week 14 matchup.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Henry is presently undergoing the concussion protocol, as anticipated. This puts his availability for the upcoming game against the Dolphins in question.
Following the game, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel did not give any updates on Henry’s status, but his inability to return suggests that he may not have passed the concussion protocol, casting doubt on his availability for Week 14.
