Apple Blames iPhone 15 Overheating on Flaw in iOS 17

Apple has blamed the overheating of its new iPhone 15 on a flaw in its operating system and updates to apps such as Instagram.

Since the release of the current edition of the smartphone in September, several users have complained that the smartphones are becoming too hot to touch. Apple stated that there was an issue when updating the phone to iOS 17.

However, it also stated that updates to third-party programmes are “overloading the system.”

Due to the amount of processing power being consumed and the handset working hard, iPhone customers have grown to expect their smartphones to become hotter during initial setup or backup – but these concerns with the iPhone 15 have been worse.

Users flocked to social media to complain about how hot the new phones were.

Apple iPhone 15 is overheating

According to Apple, the iPhone may feel warmer in the first few days “after setting up or restoring the device because of increased background activity.” The business stated: “We have identified a few conditions which can cause iPhones to run warmer than expected.”

This contains a flaw in iOS 17, the most recent version of Apple’s software available for its most recent devices. It stated that “another issue involves some recent updates to third-party apps that are causing them to overload the system,” and that it is working with app developers on remedies that are in the works.

According to Apple, the apps responsible for the issue include Instagram, Uber, and the video game Asphalt 9. Instagram corrected the problem with its app last week. To address the iPhone’s temperature, the impending iOS 17 bug update will not affect performance.

Apple emphasised that the hot phones are unrelated to the new titanium housing that houses the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max rather than the stainless steel used on prior smartphones.

It further denied that the overheating issue had anything to do with the new USB-C port, which allowed it to comply with a European regulators’ rule. According to Apple, the problem poses no safety or harm risk and will have no long-term impact on the phone’s performance.

Apple iPhone 15 features

The iPhone 15 series has arrived, bringing with it a slew of improvements and new capabilities.

The main takeaway is straightforward and can be summarized in a single sentence: the iPhone 15 represents one of the most significant upgrade cycles for iPhones in recent memory. Yes, there is much to be enthusiastic about, so let’s get right to it and begin with the…
A Quick Look at the iPhone 15

Following the lead of the iPhone 14 and prior years, Apple has announced four new iPhone 15 versions.

The standard iPhone 15, followed by the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Except for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which now starts at a higher $1,200 price but contains 256GB storage in the base version, all start at the same price and have the same storage options. The rest of the portfolio begins with 128GB of storage as the starting point.

There are two compact-ish iPhones with 6.1-inch screens (the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro) and two larger ones (the Plus and Pro Max) with 6.7-inch displays among these four.

The iPhone 15, which starts at $800 and has a 6.1-inch display and two back cameras, is the most cheap of the new launches. Then there’s the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, which starts at $900 and has a larger battery but only two cameras.

Then there are the more expensive Pro models, which now have new features to differentiate them even further from the non-Pro models. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max both sport the next-generation A17 Pro chip, which has a slew of upgrades.

The smaller 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro retains the famous triple rear camera arrangement, but the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max is the first iPhone to feature a folding camera with 5X natural zoom, which is significantly longer than the current 3X.

Here is a rundown of the top ten new iPhone 15 features:

  • The USB-C port has taken the place of the Lightning port.
  • All four models make use of Dynamic Island.
  • iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have an older A16 chip, while the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max use a newer A17 chip. Pro models use titanium rather than stainless steel, which saves weight.
  • iPhone 15 Pro models have a new customizable Action Button in place of the mute switch.
  • Battery size is somewhat greater.
Only the iPhone 15 Pro Max variant receives a new periscope camera with a greater zoom range.
  • Regular iPhone 15 devices get a 48MP primary camera update.

So these are the most notable new features… but there are many other minor enhancements that you should be aware of. We go into more detail below, examining all of these new features and more, so keep reading to learn everything there is to know about the iPhone 15 family!
