Nikki Haley Says She Won’t Debate Without Trump
(CTN News) – Nikki Haley will only return to the debate stage if Donald Trump or Joe Biden are present.
It has been a great campaign with five great debates. Unfortunately, Trump has dodged each and every one,” Nikki Haley said. It’s impossible for him to hide anymore. My next debate will either be with Donald Trump or with Joe Biden. This is something I am looking forward to.”
Prior to New Hampshire’s primary on Jan. 23, debates will be held in the state. A debate will be held by ABC News and WMUR-TV on Thursday, while will host a debate on Sunday.
In a statement to POLITICO, an ABC News spokesperson said Trump and Nikki Haley had until 5 p.m. Tuesday to commit to the debate, and that they would update their plans based on both campaigns’ responses.
Trump is being challenged by Nikki Haley after the former U.N. high commissioner came in third in Monday night’s Iowa caucuses. There was no question that Trump was the favorite, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis coming in second.
The CNN debate has been accepted by DeSantis, but Trump has already scheduled a rally in New Hampshire for Sunday.
As DeSantis wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, Nikki Haley “fears debate because she doesn’t want to answer the tough questions” and is running for Trump’s vice presidency.
While Nikki Haley and Donald Trump have snubbed the voters of New Hampshire with their snubs, DeSantis has promised to uphold his commitments. This week, I will have the opportunity to debate two empty podiums in the Granite State, and I look forward to having the opportunity to do that.
Haley has claimed that because of her close third-place finish, the campaign has turned into a head-to-head contest between her and Trump.
“As of tonight, there are only two Republican candidates in this primary,” Haley stated.
