True Detective: Night Country Songs & When They Played

(CTN News) – In addition to the gripping mystery drama unfolding in an Alaskan town, True Detective: Night Country also features scintillating tracks that perfectly complement its pivotal moments.

As with every True Detective season, season 4 introduces new characters and a self-contained storyline. In addition, it refers to Detective season 1, suggesting that it is set in the same universe where Rust and Marty once worked together.

True Detective season 4 blurs the lines between the supernatural and the material world. It also introduces hardened detective characters who confront their own demons as they unravel the overarching mystery.

As a result, the fourth season of True Detective includes a talented cast including Jodie Foster, Kali Reis, Finn Bennett, Fiona Shaw, and John Hawkes, among others.

True Detective also has a great soundtrack to enhance the chills and thrills it instills with its gripping narrative, well-written character beats, and strong cast.

True Detective: Night Country episode 1 music

The Beatles’ “Twist and Shout” plays in the opening scenes of True Detective season 4’s episode 1, where the camera explores a research facility in Alaska.

After a few moments, all the researchers mysteriously disappear. A delivery man hears the same song a few days later, believing the researchers are still inside, when he arrives at the facility. To his surprise, he did not find anyone.

Jodie Foster’s Detective Danvers rushes inside to turn off the song when she first arrives at the site to investigate the disappearance of the researchers. In turning it off, she expresses anxiety about something traumatic from her past.

“Sweat (A La La La La Long)” by Inner Circle: This upbeat track plays in the truck of the delivery man on his way to the Alaskan research facility to deliver goods.

Billie Eilish’s “Buy a Friend” is the opening theme to True Detective season 4. Even its lyrics anticipate the show’s main plot points in season 4, as the song’s ethereal quality goes hand in hand with its themes.
