XDefiant Hands-On Preview - Call Of Duty Featuring Ubisoft IPs

(CTN News) – We have learned XDefiant that Ubisoft has been working on a free-to-play first-person shooter that mixes characters from some of its most beloved Tom Clancy IPs, including Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and The Division. XDefiant was first revealed in July 2021; then, we learned that Ubisoft would develop the shooter as a free-to-play first-person shooter.

During the next month, Ubisoft announced that the game had been officially confirmed and that the testing phase had begun.

The developers of XDefiant have been silent for nearly two years, but the game is finally ready to be showcased again.

WCCFtech recently participated in a press event and played a preview build of XDefiant ahead of its Closed Beta, which is now live on all platforms (PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X).

They wanted each weapon class to shine at its strongest point, so SMGs excel at close range, Assault Rifles excel at medium range, etc., though 44 customizable attachments can be used to tweak these characteristics in a variety of ways. A total of 24 weapons will be available at launch.

XDefiant’s uniqueness lies in the fact that it contains factions based on some of Ubisoft’s most popular IPs. They function as classes and may be changed at any time during respawn.

Echelon spies in Splinter Cell can activate a brief invisibility ability that is useful for infiltration, and their ultimate skill reveals the location of the enemy’s team to the entire team.

According to the original announcement, there are Cleaners from The Division who are able to use a drone to rain fire on a straight line.

You will want to stay away from their ultimate weapon, which is a flamethrower that will, as you would expect, give them an edge.

There is also incendiary ammunition, which does not only inflict burn damage to the target, but it also lowers the range of the weapon.

The freedom fighters from Far Cry 6 have also made their way into XDefiant. The skills they possess are focused on the healing of themselves as well as their allies in the area.

Alternatively, Phantoms from Ghost Recon make use of advanced technology in order to shield themselves and the rest of the team from the fire of enemy forces.
Finally, DedSec members from Watch Dogs are able to disrupt the ability of the enemy team to use skills with a hack, and they can also unleash the spider-like drone franchise that fans are likely to be familiar with as well.

You will need to unlock DedSec first, however, so be aware of that.

XDefiant is equipped with five modes, which are generally divided into two categories: arena and linear. It is important to point out that arena modes such as Domination, Occupy, and Hot Shot have a symmetrical design for the teams.

The linear modes, on the other hand, are divided into two types of teams: attackers and defenders, as in Escort and Zone Control.

Will XDefiant be on Xbox?
