COMO, Italy – AC Milan turned a tough first half into a strong 3-1 win over Como at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. The Rossoneri went behind early, but came out sharper after the break and took all three points. The result keeps them close to Inter Milan at the top and shows the grit Allegri wants from his side.

This was a rearranged Matchday 16 game, and Como, led by Cesc Fàbregas, started on the front foot. They saw plenty of the ball and created chances, but Milan made their moments count and held firm when it mattered.

Como Strike First

Como hit Milan with an early blow in the 10th minute. Marc-Oliver Kempf powered in a header from a Martin Baturina corner, putting the hosts ahead after a lively start. Como’s press caused problems, and both Nico Paz and Lucas Da Cunha worked on Mike Maignan with shots that forced quick reactions.

Milan looked short of rhythm for long spells in the first half. They did have their chances, though, with Youssouf Fofana testing Jean Butez. Como still carried a threat on the break and kept Milan’s back line busy.

Nkunku Levels from the Spot

Milan found their way back into it just before half-time. Kempf brought down Adrien Rabiot in the box, and the referee pointed straight to the spot. Christopher Nkunku kept his nerve and sent a low penalty towards the goal. Butez got a touch, but couldn’t keep it out. The equaliser at 45’+1′ changed the mood going into the interval, with the score at 1-1.

Rabiot Takes Over After the Break

Milan stepped it up in the second half and took the lead at 55 minutes. Rafael Leão controlled a long pass, drove inside, then lifted a perfect ball into the area. Rabiot brought it down on his chest and smashed a volley into the bottom corner to make it 2-1.

Como chased the game after that and committed more bodies forward. Paz and others went close, but Maignan was outstanding. He made a string of key stops to keep Milan in front during Como’s best spell.

With Como pushing late on, Milan found the space to finish the job. In the 88th minute, Rabiot struck again, drilling a low effort from outside the box to complete his brace and seal a 3-1 win.

Standout Players and What It Means

Rabiot led the way with two goals and a big second-half display. Leão’s assist gave Milan a lift at the right time, and Nkunku’s calm penalty mattered more than it first looked. Maignan’s shot-stopping stood out too, with eight saves helping Milan ride out pressure.

Como can take positives from their play, as they stay in the mix for European places, but they paid for mistakes at the back. For Milan, the win extends their unbeaten Serie A run and keeps them second in the table with momentum heading into the next fixtures.
