Thailand Foreign Ministry to Expand E-Visa System for Tourists

(CTN News) – According to a government spokesperson on Sunday, the administration has given the Foreign Ministry the task of improving the e-visa system so travelers from all countries can do so more easily.

Trisulee Trisaranakul, a deputy government spokesperson, said the International Ministry had been instructed to increase the e-visa system’s capacity to accommodate the growing number of foreign visitors who want to use it.

The Thai government has authorized e-visas and visas on arrival to make traveling easier for international visitors.

Visas issued upon arrival are handled by the Immigration Bureau, while the Foreign Ministry is in charge of the e-visa program.

Using the e-visa system, international citizens may apply for visas and upload copies of their passports without going to a Thai embassy or consulate.

They get an electronic visa stamp when their applications are accepted, which they may print off and present to their airlines and immigration authorities when they arrive.
