UDON THANI – Police report a girls’ dormitory became the scene of a frightening intrusion early Monday morning, leaving a female student shaken, and local police are investigating a clear breach of privacy and law.
On the morning of May 18, 2026, a 21-year-old fourth-year student, referred to as “Ms. A,” was jolted awake in her own room. She discovered a man standing over her—a senior from her same college, whom she recognized but did not invite.
The student, terrified by the sudden presence of an intruder, immediately questioned his motive for being in her room at such an early hour.
The man, identified as Mr. Wave, 21, reportedly offered a bizarre explanation: he had climbed into her dorm room because his girlfriend was jealous of Ms. A, which had led to a social media conflict. He claimed he only wanted to apologize and “clear the air.”
Following the incident, the student and the dormitory owner brought CCTV evidence to the Mueang Udon Thani Police Station to file a formal complaint.
Police quickly identified the suspect. It was discovered that Mr. Wave lives next door to the dormitory and is the son of a police officer assigned to the same station. During the initial inquiry, the suspect admitted to entering the room through an unlocked door, citing a lack of understanding of the legal consequences for his actions.
The suspect’s father, a Police Lieutenant Colonel, has acknowledged the incident. He stated that his son acted without thinking and was unaware of the legal implications of trespassing. Despite his son’s role, the father confirmed he would allow the legal process to proceed normally.
