Mental Health Crisis Leads to Fatal Machete Attack in Buriram

BANGKOK – A quiet neighborhood in the Non Paek sub-district of Buriram was shattered by a gruesome act of violence on Friday. A 62-year-old mother lost her life at the hands of her own son, in what witnesses and family members describe as a tragic fallout from untreated mental illness and drug use.

The incident took place in front of a home in Ban Pho, Village No. 5. Local authorities arrived to find the body of a woman lying in a pool of blood.
