Among The Nominees: Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Oasis, Mariah Carey, Sinéad O’Connor

(CTN News) – Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Oasis, Sinéad O’Connor, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Dave Matthews Band, Eric B. & Rakim have been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024.

Also included are A Tribe Called Quest and Rakim, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Jane’s Addiction, Kool & the Gang, and Lenny Kravitz.

There will be an announcement of the winners sometime in April, and the awards ceremony will take place in Cleveland at a later date.

John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, said in a statement Ozzy Osbourne that the nominees represent a diverse range of artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates.

Therefore, these artists have continued the tradition of Rock and Roll by creating their own Ozzy Osbourne sounds that have influenced generations and countless others who have followed in their footsteps.”

A nominee’s first single or album must have been released between 1999 and 2003 in order to qualify for this year’s ballot.

Ten of the fifteen nominees (Mariah Carey, Cher, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang, Lenny Kravitz, Oasis, Sinéad O’Connor, Ozzy Osbourne and Sade) are appearing on the ballot for the first time. In previous years, all of them have been eligible.

It is the third nomination for A Tribe Called Quest, and the second for Mary J. Blige, Dave Matthews Band, and Eric B. and Rakim. In addition to Rakim & Jane’s Addiction, there is Jane’s Addiction.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction Ozzy Osbourne ceremony has inspired a number of stunning reunion performances over the years. This year, Oasis are one of the most notable possibilities, but that is highly unlikely given the bitter division between Noel and Liam Gallagher.

In addition, Ozzy Osbourne will make a rare live appearance, the surviving members of Foreigner and A Tribe Called Quest will reunite, and Dave Navarro will perform with Jane’s Addiction for the first time since the release of Covid.
