Police Arrest Suspected Shooter of School Teacher
Police report the key suspect in the November 11th deadly shooting of a school teacher and a vocational student in Bangkok’s Khlong Toei neighborhood was apprehended this morning in Chiang Mai province.
At daybreak, a police team from Bangkok’s Metropolitan Police Bureau apprehended 19-year-old “Anawin” who was camped on Doi Pui mountain. He will be transported back to Bangkok this afternoon for questioning.
A member of the police team in charge of following current and former students of a rival school stated that they are still seeking for another suspect, Abdulloh Dueramae, who is still at large.
Except for Anawin, thirteen people have been detained at the Thung Mahamek police station. Police escorted them all to Bangkok South Criminal Court this morning for a court order to keep them detained further.
According to police, they are accused with criminal association of more than five people as well as being accomplices in the murders of two people. On Wednesday afternoon, the national police head, Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol, will hold a press conference at the Metropolitan Police investigative center.
A Sacred Heart Convent School teacher in Khlong Toei, Sarada, was shot dead while waiting in front of an ATM machine near her school by a criminal who arrived on two motorcycles.
Thanasorn, 19, a first-year student at Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok, Uthenthawai campus, was gravely injured while waiting at a bus stop with a group of his classmates. A few days later, he died at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.
