Microsoft Offers Businesses a $20 AI Subscription Service Called Copilot Pro
(CTN News) – With the launch of a subscription-based offer from Microsoft, consumers and business owners are able to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into applications they use on a daily basis, such as Word and Excel.
The company’s vice president of corporate communications, Jared Spataro, stated: “Copilot Pro will stand out because it integrates seamlessly with applications that people use every day.”
For $20 per month, Microsoft will offer what it calls Copilot Pro, an artificial intelligence assistant. As of last year, Microsoft made the AI copilot programme available for free as part of its Bing search engine.
As part of the subscription, users will be able to access new tools and AI models including GPT-4 Turbo and an AI assistant that can assist with text authoring and number crunching in Word and Excel.
As part of the announcement, the firm eliminated the requirement for a 300-employee enterprise version of the program, allowing smaller organizations to take advantage of the security controls and Teams upgrade that come with a $30 Copilot subscription per user.
It is expected that virtually all Microsoft business customers will subscribe, Spataro said: “I cannot imagine that any commercial organization would not wish to make use of Copilot at least once.”
As part of Alphabet, Google is competing with Microsoft in the marketing of artificial intelligence for productivity and cloud computing to businesses.
