Tuesday’s Boston Snow Total Could Be The Highest In 2 Years
(CTN News) – Boston, you are in for a treat. According to forecasters, Tuesday’s snowstorm will be the city’s heaviest snowfall in two years.
Forecasts say Boston will receive between eight and twelve inches of snow on Monday morning.
According to National Weather Service meteorologist Alan Dunham, the storm is expected to be the largest of the year at this time.
It is estimated that the storm will be even more significant than that, according to the National Weather Service for Boston. In order to obtain a snow total higher than that, you would need to go back to the winter of 2021-2022, when nearly 2 feet of snow fell on Boston on January 29, 2022.
According to the National Weather Service, there were 23.6 inches of rain in Boston on that day.
National Weather Service forecasts heavy snowfall on Tuesday, resulting in high snowfall totals throughout the state.
Despite the relatively short duration of the snowfall, there will be times when the snow will fall between 1 and 2 inches per hour, and in some areas 3 or more inches per hour may fall.
In most areas of Massachusetts, snow could amount to one foot or more. It is expected that only the northwest corner of the state, the southeast corner of the state, and the Cape and Islands will receive that much snow.
There is still some risk of snow on Cape Cod despite the fact that it is predicted to receive the least amount of snow. It is forecast that winds will gust up to 40 miles per hour along the coast, and storm surges of between one and two feet are expected, especially on Tuesday morning.
