It is important to never take for granted the bravery and sacrifices made by our police officers and first responders every day, Walz emphasised. There is a special place in my heart for their families today, and the entire State of Minnesota stands with Burnsville today.”

Several other officers were injured as well, according to Walz, but details regarding their conditions were not provided.

The Burnsville Police Department confirmed to News that an “active scene” was taking place, but did not provide further details. The Burnsville neighborhood has been gathered by the police as of Sunday morning, according to KARE, an affiliate of NBC News.

As a matter of fact, they Minnesota were performing their duties. As members of our community, they were protecting us.

It was reported that two officers and a paramedic were shot in the attack by both the city of Golden Valley, located 20 miles north of Burnsville, as well as the city of West St. Paul police department.
