(CTN News) – In Burnsville, Minnesota, two police officers and a firefighter were killed after responding to a call about a family in danger on Sunday morning.

Several other officers were injured as well, according to Walz, but details regarding their conditions were not provided.
The Burnsville Police Department confirmed to News that an “active scene” was taking place, but did not provide further details. The Burnsville neighborhood has been gathered by the police as of Sunday morning, according to KARE, an affiliate of NBC News.
According to ATF’s social media account, it was responding to an incident in Burnsville, where officers are believed to have been involved in a domestic-related shooting.
In an earlier posting on X, Sen. Amy Klobuchar stated that she was informed that three police officers had been shot in Burnsville, Minnesota.
“According to the police, three officers have been shot in Burnsville today,” Klobuchar wrote. The Burnsville Police Department and John and I are praying for them and their families this morning. As a matter of fact, they Minnesota were performing their duties. As members of our community, they were protecting us.
It was reported that two officers and a paramedic were shot in the attack by both the city of Golden Valley, located 20 miles north of Burnsville, as well as the city of West St. Paul police department.
The Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara also asked the public to keep Burnsville Police Department in their prayers this morning on X.
In addition to posting to social media, Minnesota state representative Jim Nash also made a statement.
Nash wrote, “My heart breaks for the families of these officers, for the Burnsville community, and for our nation because this headline is not unique.”
Incorporated in 1964, Burnsville is a suburban city located south of both Minneapolis and St. Paul. The city’s website indicates that it is the ninth largest suburb in the metro area, with over 64,000 residents.
