Joe Biden Thanks The 82nd Airborne Division For Their Service In Poland

President Joe Biden met with members of the 82nd Airborne Division in Poland on Friday, praising their service. In recent weeks, they have been deployed to NATO’s eastern flank. Joe Biden will meet with Andrzej Duda, his Polish counterpart, on Thursday.

More than 2.2 million people have entered Poland and many plan to stay. In addition to the thousands of U.S. troops deployed on rotation since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, Poland hosts thousands of additional U.S. troops.

President Joe Biden’s office tweeted a photo of him clicking a selfie with the 82nd Airborne Division.

In meeting members of the 82nd Airborne Division on the ground, the US President noted, “You are a representative of 1% of the American people, and you have stepped up to protect the country. We are a country based on equality. The rest of the world looks to us for example. This new generation combines both.”

US & NATO Must Show ‘Strength & Determination’ In Response To Ukraine Crisis: White House

In response to events in Ukraine and new military relations between Russia and Belarus, the White House said the United States and NATO must demonstrate “strength and determination.”

In response to Russia’s possible plans to target NATO territory, the White House National Security Advisor (NSA) said the US and NATO are doing preparations. According to Sullivan, when Biden flew to Poland on Friday, “the president has been as clear as anyone can be about his absolute determination to respond decisively alongside the other members of NATO if Russia attacks.”
