Purchasing Weed Legally in Thailand

By now you’ve surely heard about the laws surrounding the legalization of  Weed having changed, and the country opening up to allow cannabis use. This has many tourists and business owners alike hoping Thailand will soon become the Amsterdam of Asia.

Only a few months in and our ganja-friendly, tropical holiday destination is looking on track to gain that exact reputation.

With politicians promoting marijuana as a way to boost tourism and bolster the country’s failing economy, through a cannabis dispensary, coffee shops, and everyone else now selling these CBD and weed products.

Nobody could argue that cannabis isn’t going to encourage the next wave of tourism in the post covid-19 era.

Purchasing Weed in Phuket

As Thailand’s #1 holiday drawcard, the large, tropical island is littered with hotels, beaches, bars and now you can also find a cannabis dispensary or coffee shop on every corner too.

As tourists are welcomed back to this paradise that was decimated by the excessive lockdown on global tourism, many find themselves able to enjoy their holiday there in a different way from previous times.

Not only are tourists able to find cannabis for sale in most busy areas of the island, but they can also order online for delivery from companies such as Buy Weed in Phuket.

With a variety of strains available from the numerous sellers, both locally grown and imported, organic, non-organic, and PGR bud, and a huge selection of edibles and other consumables now available, vacationers will be spoiled for choice.

If you’re planning a trip to Phuket and looking for something to make your trip even more enjoyable, just take a walk down any main thoroughfare near your hotel, and you’ll be sure to find something that appeals.

And if you’re too lazy to leave the room you can always jump online and order cannabis for delivery from any number of sellers there.

Buying Marijuana in Bangkok

Bangkok is a big city, and by big, we mean huge. If you’ve ever been there, you know exactly what we’re talking about.

With a population that eclipses that of some entire sovereign nations, Bangkok is a drawcard for many tourists who come to visit the Land of Smiles.

Not dissimilar to Phuket, cannabis dispensaries and coffee shop selling marijuana products can be found throughout the city. With ganja being so popular some restaurants are even selling bud or adding it to their food.

Amongst the concrete jungle however, cannabis shops may be a little harder to spot than they are in Phuket.

In this instance, Google is your friend. Trendy areas and places where tourists tend to frequent seem to have the highest number of shops selling dope.

however you’ll be able to find cannabis in every corner of the city, if you know where to look.

Check out Sukhumvit around Asoke, and Silom area for a high density of cannabis friendly shops.

Scoring Bud in Pattaya

Pattaya is known for attracting a different kind of tourist – but everybody likes weed, right?

With a high concentration of long-term expats here, and a regular influx of tourists, Pattaya has not missed out on the weed boom.

Not even close. Dispensaries and shops selling cannabis are everywhere here, and since the city is quite high-density, it’s not hard to find a shop selling just what you’re looking for within close walking distance!

If you find yourself in town take a wander down any main road and you’ll be sure to come across a few shops with a variety of marijuana products for sale.

We recommend checking out a few before you buy just to compare prices and quality, as the city seems to have a higher variance than other places in Thailand.

Other Areas of Thailand

In more rural areas of Thailand, or in smaller cities, it’s still quite easy to find local shops that can provide you with what you are looking for.

You may not have the same selection or be able to access the really high-grade stuff, but you won’t be stuck without anything to smoke – that’s for sure.

Take a look online or even on Facebook – where Thai sellers like to advertise their goods – to see what’s available.

Changes in the Laws

In Thailand, things can change fast, and since these laws and new and the industry is currently highly unregulated, we expect there will be updates and alterations to the currently laws in the future.

Keep up to date with the latest news on what is happening in relation to cannabis in Thailand here.

In the meantime, however, go get yourself some bud, light up a spliff and enjoy the new liberal Thailand while you can!

Here’s to a new wave of tourism to boost the economy and a more positive outlook for Thailand’s future.
