Lampang Police have launched a nationwide manhunt for a man after he broke into his ex-girlfriends dormitory room and beat her almost to death metal digging tool before fleeing on his motorcycle in northern Thailand’s Lampang Province.
According Thai Media, doctors at Lampang Hospital the woman identified as Ms. Nantaphorn suffered a fractured skull and is in critical condition.
Lampang Police reported that they received a call from caretaker of the apartment that a man had climbed over the security fence, broke the lock on the apartment door and then violently assaulted Ms. Nantaphorn his tenant, then sped away on a motorcycle.
He said he quickly called the Sawang Lampang Rescue Foundation to take the young woman to the hospital.
The caretaker told police when he went to the room, the girl was seen lying in a pool of blood. He believed that the man used a digging hoe to beat the girl until she passed out. He said the man probably thought that the girl was dead and ran away.

The young woman’s parent told police that their daughter had recently broke up with her boyfriend identified as Mr. Thanachit Yoothip, a resident of Phitsanulok Province, and that had threatened to kill her and her family, if she ever broke up with him.
Her mother said that her daughter had previously worked in Phitsanulok, and brought Mr. Thanachit back home to meet them twice.
When she returned to Phitsanulok 2 months ago, her daughter called to tell her that Mr. Thanachit had physically abused her and she wanted to break up with him. She told her daughter to come home and get a job in Lampang.
Police in Lampang have issued a nationwide warrant for Mr. Thanachit’s arrest, the victims parents have filed a formal police complaint and told police they want Mr. Thanachit prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Meanwhile the victim in still in incentive care in Lampang Hospital suffering from swelling on the brain. She has been able to speak but cannot remember anything due to her brain injury.
