GLO Director Lt Col Noon Sansanakhom has announced Monday that the Government Lottery Office (GLO) sold two million additional digital lottery tickets in a mere 22 seconds for the September 16 draw.
According to Thai PBS, the Pao Tang application presented the dealers with the opportunity to purchase the 20,000 vouchers on September 6.
The merchants had placed orders for seven million digital lottery tickets, but only two million were available, indicating that the demand exceeded the supply.
He stated that the additional digital tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis in order to resolve the issue.
The additional tickets have increased the total number of tickets for the September 16th draw from 24 million to 26 million, thereby increasing the availability of digital lottery tickets at a price of 80 baht each.
The GLO director clarified that the objective is to replicate the actual lottery market by progressively increasing the number of digital lottery tickets per draw.
His cautionary statement to lottery dealers emphasises the need of assessing their financial situation to determine their ability to purchase further digital tickets. Failure to do so would result in them personally bearing the financial burden if they are unable to sell all of their tickets.
In addition to augmenting the quantity of digital lottery tickets, he said that the GLO intends to expand its distribution channels, enabling dealers to sell the digital lottery tickets to the general public through the www.glolotteryshop.com website.
