AT&T Users Hit By Cellular Outage In U.S.
(CTN News) – There were reports of disruptions to cellular service offered by AT&T and other telecom companies in the U.S. early Thursday morning, according to users.
It has been reported that more than 32,000 outage incidents have been reported with AT&T’s service around 4:30 a.m. ET, according to data from the outage tracking website Downdetector.com, a website that tracks outage incidents.
A number of cities were impacted, including San Francisco, Houston, and Chicago, according to the website.
Users at AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and UScellular have also reported that their service has been affected by the problem, according to Downdetector.
As a result of Reuters’ inquiries regarding the causes of the outages, the companies did not immediately respond to our request for comments when we inquired about the reasons behind them.
The San Francisco Fire Department reported on its social media platform X that due to the outage, some people were having difficulty contacting AT&T emergency services by dialing 911 as a result of the outage.
As a result, if there were any emergencies, we would do this as soon as possible.
“Our fire department is aware that an issue may be preventing AT&T customers (including 911 calls) from being able to make or receive phone calls, according to a post on the platform formerly known as Twitter. The department stated that it was “actively engaged in this issue and monitoring it closely.”
