The Miami Dolphins Were Shocked By Monday's Game

(CTN News) – The Miami Dolphins experienced a devastating turn of events on Monday night as they squandered a 14-point lead in the last 4:34 of the game, resulting in a shocking 28-27 loss against the Tennessee Titans.

This defeat marked Miami’s first loss at home this season, while it also marked Tennessee’s first triumph on the road. The Titans secured the game-winning touchdown with a 3-yard run by Derrick Henry, leaving only 1:49 on the clock.

In a desperate attempt to secure a field goal and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, the Dolphins’ final drive came to an abrupt end when Tua Tagovailoa was sacked on fourth down.

The Miami Dolphins’ defeat prevented them from reclaiming the top position in the AFC standings and maintained their magic number for securing the AFC East title at three. Capitalizing on two costly errors by Tennessee,

The Miami Dolphins transformed a 13-13 tie in the fourth quarter into a commanding 27-13 lead.

The first blunder occurred when returner Eric Garror attempted to field a bouncing punt inside the 10-yard line, resulting in a muffed punt. The second mistake came from a fumble during a mishandled pitch between rookie QB Will Levis and running back Derrick Henry.

Taking advantage of these miscues, Raheem Mostert capitalized with touchdown runs of 3 and 5 yards.

However, Tennessee swiftly responded by marching down the field and scoring a touchdown, narrowing the gap to six points with a successful two-point conversion. The Miami Dolphins then failed to sustain a drive, giving Tennessee possession once again. The Titans capitalized on this opportunity, covering 64 yards in just four plays, starting with a 36-yard completion from Will Levis to DeAndre Hopkins.

Zach Sieler’s 5-yard interception return contributed to the Miami Dolphins’ touchdown, while Jason Sanders added two field goals. Injuries plagued the team, with offensive linemen Terron Armstead and Robert Hunt already missing and center Connor Williams suffering a serious knee injury.

Wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, cornerback Xavien Howard, and safety DeShon Elliott also got injured but were able to return.

The absence of Hill affected the offense, along with the missing offensive linemen. Despite allowing a 1-yard run by Derrick Henry, the defense effectively shut him down. Their struggles were against DeAndre Hopkins and rookie Tyjae Spears.

The defense scored a touchdown for the third consecutive week, with Sieler intercepting a screen pass and returning it for a game-changing score.

Bradley Chubb’s lack of composure cost the Dolphins a penalty, giving the Titans a free first down and costing the Dolphins four points.

Denico Autry later blocked Sanders’ 44-yard field goal. Despite a balanced offense, the Miami Dolphins didn’t produce the impressive numbers seen at home.

Miami gained 342 yards, with 158 on the ground and 208 through the air, but Tua didn’t throw a touchdown pass for the first time since Week 4 of the 2022 season.
