F1 World Championship 2023 Final Standings After Abu Dhabi
(CTN News) – Mercedes emerged victorious in the battle for the runner-up spot in the F1 Constructors’ Championship against Ferrari during the Abu Dhabi GP finale. The outcome was determined by a mere three points, and their intense competition lasted until the final lap.
Furthermore, the rankings for the F1 Drivers’ Championship, beyond the top three, were settled as Fernando Alonso from Aston Martin narrowly surpassed Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc on countback, after both drivers The outcome resulted in an equal number of points.
Drivers’ standings for the 2023 F1 World Championship
Max Verstappen extended his lead in the standings by adding another 26 points at Yas Marina, finishing the season with a comfortable 290-point advantage over his teammate Sergio Perez.
In 2022, Verstappen’s lead over Charles Leclerc was 146 points. Despite securing second place in Abu Dhabi, Leclerc couldn’t surpass Fernando Alonso, who claimed fourth place based on countback of highest finishes.
Leclerc had initially secured the position until F1 Alonso overtook Yuki Tsunoda to secure seventh place in the closing stages of the race. Lando Norris of McLaren finished just one point behind them in sixth, while Carlos Sainz of Ferrari dropped from fourth to seventh due to a non-score after a difficult weekend.
On the other hand, Leclerc managed to climb from seventh to fifth. George Russell’s podium finish for Mercedes didn’t improve his position from eighth, but he finished ahead of Oscar Piastri (McLaren) and Lance Stroll (Aston).

Red Bull dominated the competition, winning by a margin of 451 points over Mercedes, who secured second place on the final lap. Ferrari finished just three points behind Mercedes, but comfortably ahead of McLaren.
Aston and Alpine secured fifth and sixth positions respectively. AlphaTauri narrowly missed out on seventh place, falling three points short of Williams. Alfa Romeo and Haas F1 Team completed the final positions.
