Texans vs. Browns score: Live updates, NFL playoff scores, analysis, AFC Wild Card Game Highlights
As the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans met in Super Wild Card Weekend, Houston had defensive issues. Backed by C.J. Stroud, the Texans scored three first-half touchdowns to take a 24-14 halftime lead in Cleveland.
As a rookie phenom, Stroud threw 76-yard touchdown passes to Brevin Jordan and a 15-yard scoring strike to Nico Collins in the first half. He was 11 of 16 for 236 yards and three touchdowns. Before halftime, Stroud extended the Texans’ lead to 10 points with a 37-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Schultz.
As early as the second quarter, Kareem Hunt scored his second touchdown of the game, putting the Browns ahead twice in the first half. In the first half, both teams had eight plays that spanned more than 20 yards, but Houston responded just seconds later with Jordan’s touchdown.
A running game that gained only 24 yards on nine carries in the first 30 minutes didn’t help Flacco’s performance in the first half. He threw for 172 yards and a touchdown on 15 of 19 passes.
