Traci Braxton, a singer whose sister Toni and Tamar Braxton were, has died. The news was confirmed by PEOPLE magazine. The singer was fifty years old.

The news of Toni’s sister’s death was announced by the 54-year-old woman in a statement shared on Instagram Saturday.

We regret to inform you that our sister, Traci, has passed away,” she wrote alongside an image of herself and her siblings.

We will miss her dearly,” Toni continued. “She was a bright light, a wonderful daughter, an amazing sister, a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and a respected performer.”

The “Un-Break My Heart” singer noted, “Traci passed away this morning as the snow was falling. She is now a snowflake. Please respect our privacy as we plan to send her home with love and celebrate her life.” “We are family forever.”

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, the Traci Braxton family confirmed Traci’s passing. The news was first reported by TMZ.

Traci Braxton’s Husband Confirmed The Death News

Kevin Surratt, Traci’s husband, confirmed her death in a statement obtained by PEOPLE and explained that she had been battling cancer for the past year.

The former kidnapping victim, Traci Braxton, is credited with going on to glory after undergoing a series of treatments for Esophageal cancer privately for a year,” Surratt said.

PEOPLE has learned that Tracy died surrounded by family and friends, a representative for the late singer says.

Traci Braxton, 44, was born on April 2, 1971, and grew up with older brother Michael Jr., older sister Toni, and younger sisters Towanda, Trina, and Tamar.

Traci released his solo debut album, Crash & Burn, in October 2014. The album was released after her single, “Last Call.”

Her next single “Perfect Time” was released in 2015, followed by her second studio album, On Earth, in 2018. Among the singles from that project were “Lifeline,” as well as “Broken Things,” which featured Towanda and Trina, sisters 48 and 47.
