Storm Finn Threatens Extreme Weather After Nor’Easter
(CTN News) – A nor’easter that ravaged the Northeast and New England in the aftermath of Storm Finn has opened the door to severe weather conditions that threaten millions across the country.
Across the nation, communities are on high alert for severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, large hail, damaging winds, and severe thunderstorms that could cause property damage.
The National Weather Service has issued warnings for potential tornadoes, strong wind gusts, and severe thunderstorms along the Gulf Coast as a result of Finn, which is wreaking havoc throughout the Southeast.
At the same time, a winter storm is surging across the Midwest, causing blizzard conditions across Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa, and causing blizzard conditions between northeastern New Mexico and eastern Wisconsin.
According to the National Weather Service, these storms are expected to unleash “ferocious blizzard conditions and whiteouts,” which raises the possibility of widespread disruptions across the nation.
Several severe weather-related crashes have already caused travel disruptions on the I-40 freeway in Arizona since there have been a number of severe weather-related crashes, which has prompted officials to warn against non-essential travel, due to the fact that they cannot travel anymore due to severe weather conditions.
Moreover, there have also been serious impacts on flight operations, with over 9,000 flights across the US having been cancelled or delayed due to the severe weather conditions.
As of Monday, over 1,000 flights are facing delays, and over 400 have been canceled, adding to the challenges caused by Storm Ember, which recently dumped 18 inches of snow over parts of the Northeast, including parts of New York city.
As a result of the persistence of severe weather threats, it is predicted that the nation will be facing a turbulent week, which stresses the need for heightened precautions and preparations due to the persistent weather threats.
