(CTN News) – Co-defendant Nathan Wade alleged Monday that Fani Willis and Donald Trump were involved in a romance.
The attorney for Trump co-defendant Michael Roman has filed a 39-page filing seeking dismissal of the charges against Fani Willis and Wade. In the filing, the attorney makes accusations that Fani Willis and Wade have traveled together to destinations including Napa Valley, and that they have been seen together around Atlanta on a personal basis.
As a result, the filing does not provide any direct evidence to support the claims – citing only “sources with knowledge” and raising questions about the process by which Fani Willis hired Wade, a lawyer who has represented the DA’s office in court proceedings relating to the case.
As attorney Ashleigh Merchant pointed out in her reaction to the district attorney’s decision, “the district attorney chose to appoint her romantic partner, who has always been married to a man relevant to this prosecution at all times,” she said.
It is requested that Fani Willis,
Wade, and the DA’s office be disqualified from prosecuting Wade’s divorce case. This is as a result of his ongoing divorce proceedings. The district attorney and the special prosecutor were engaged in an improper, clandestine personal relationship during the pendency of this case.
This was on the grounds that they had engaged in an improper, clandestine relationship.
Thus, as a result of this, it has been found that the special prosecutor, and, in turn, the district attorney, have benefited significantly from this prosecution at the expense of the taxpayers.
According to a spokesperson for the district attorney’s office, the district attorney will respond to the allegations in a court filing and declined to comment further on the allegations.
In response to questions about the lack of evidence in Monday’s filing, Merchant explained that some of it cannot be revealed until Fani Willis Wade’s divorce records are available.
During the hearing, there would be a presentation of concrete evidence that would support the case. So, when we get a hearing, there would undoubtedly be concrete evidence and that would undoubtedly be in the form of two members of the prosecution team who could testify at the hearing,” she said, referring to Willis and Wade who could potentially testify at the hearing.
