Nvidia In Talks With Malaysian Company YTL For Data Center Deal.
(CTN News) – Nvidia is currently engaged in advanced negotiations with Malaysian conglomerate YTL regarding a data center agreement, according to three sources familiar with the matter.
The proposed collaboration would involve working together on cloud infrastructure and is expected to be centered at YTL’s data center complex in Johor Bahru, which is located near Singapore, as stated by one of the individuals.
The partnership aims to target businesses in Southeast Asia, providing them with access to Nvidia’s AI chips through cloud computing, according to a second person who was briefed on the subject.
The exact value of the deal has not been disclosed at this time.
The sources involved in the discussions have chosen to remain anonymous due to the sensitive subject matter.
Nvidia has not made any official statements,
Possibly to protect their competitive advantage. YTL has not responded, possibly due to the need for more time or careful consideration.
These factors contribute to the secrecy surrounding the discussions.
YTL’s telecommunications division has already established a cloud gaming partnership with Nvidia earlier this year.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is currently in Malaysia, having recently met with senior officials in Singapore.
During his visit, he mentioned that the U.S. chip designer may potentially announce significant investments in Singapore.
