BANGKOK – Police arrested a 40-year-old man accused of sexually abusing his 13-year-old daughter and later harassing her online. Investigators said he fled across provinces to avoid capture after the alleged assaults.
His young daughter reportedly lived in fear because the suspect kept following her and posting threatening images on social media. After his arrest, he claimed heavy drug use left him unable to control himself.
On March 21, 2026, Metropolitan Police officers announced the arrest following an investigation led by the Narcotics Suppression Operations Center of the Metropolitan Police Bureau.
The suspect, identified only as Mr. Chai, a pseudonym, was wanted under a Criminal Court warrant dated March 10, 2026. He faces a charge related to rape committed against a direct descendant.
Repeated Abuse of his Daughter
Officers tracked him to a construction camp near Phra Prang Sam Yot in Tha Hin Subdistrict, Mueang Lopburi District, Lopburi Province. The arrest took place at about 2:30 p.m. on March 20.
According to investigators, the case was linked to the suspect’s severe drug addiction. Police said his long-term use of narcotics affected his judgment and self-control, which led to repeated abuse of his biological daughter.
Once the investigative team learned what had happened, they moved quickly because the victim was still in a state of fear.
Police said the suspect continued to harass her and uploaded threatening images online. After tracing his movements, officers found that he had gone into hiding in Lopburi and then arrested him there.
During questioning, the suspect reportedly confessed. He told police he had used methamphetamine pills and crystal meth, and said the drugs triggered sexual urges and caused him to act without awareness.
Police Issue Warning to Parents
Police also used the case as a warning to the public. They said families and communities should pay close attention and not stay silent when they see signs of abuse. This case shows that danger can exist even in places that should feel safest, especially in homes affected by drug use.
Parents and guardians should watch for warning signs in children, such as unusual fear, isolation, depression, sudden mood shifts, or clear physical and emotional changes. These signs may point to abuse. The sooner someone speaks up, the better the chance of stopping more harm.

After the arrest, officers handed the suspect over to investigators at Chana Songkhram Police Station for legal action.
