Biden Suggests Israel's Support For Gaza Military Operation Is Diminishing.

(CTN News) – US President Joe Biden has expressed concern over Israel’s actions in Gaza, stating that it is causing a decline in international support for the country.

Speaking at a campaign fundraising event in Washington, Biden emphasized that Israel needs to reconsider its approach under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The United States’ recent veto of a UN resolution calling for an immediate humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza has drawn criticism, as it was supported by the majority of Security Council members and numerous nations worldwide.

While 13 out of 15 Security Council members voted in favor of the resolution, with 97 countries co-sponsoring it, Israel’s military response to Hamas’ attacks has resulted in casualties and hostage situations.

According to aid agencies, the situation of hunger is deteriorating among Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

As the United Nations General Assembly gets ready to vote on an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, the majority of Gaza’s 2.3 million people have been displaced from their homes.

The densely populated coastal enclave offers little refuge or access to food, making it extremely challenging for the residents.

The U.N. World Food Programme has reported that half of the population is currently facing starvation. UNRWA, the U.N. body responsible for Palestinian refugees, emphasized that hunger affects everyone in Gaza.

In addition to the constant bombardments, people who have been forced to flee repeatedly are also succumbing to hunger and cold. Gazans have also reported incidents of aid trucks being looted and exorbitant prices for necessities.

It is crucial to note that the Health Ministry’s latest figures reveal that Israeli attacks on Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 18,412 people and left 50,100 wounded since October 7.
