Tag Markets has been the subject of a securities fraud warning issued by Quebec’s financial markets regulator, the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF). According to an AMF warning dated September 18, 2026, Tag Markets is not registered with the AMF and does not have authorization to solicit investors in Quebec. The regulator’s notice also identifies T.M. Financials LTD, described as Tag Markets’ parent company.
Tag Markets has been associated with a number of multi-level-marketing cryptocurrency ventures. Critics and investigators have alleged that the business model behind several of these projects resembles a Ponzi scheme.
Projects linked to Tag Markets have included Crowd1, which subsequently collapsed, Zeus Funding, Exfusion, Bit1 (Daisy Global) and AITech. Names such as Sonic AI and Stratify have also appeared in connection with various Tag Markets-related ventures.
Corporate entities associated with Tag Markets, including T.M. Financials LTD and other companies, have reportedly been incorporated in jurisdictions including Saint Lucia and Mauritius. Tag Markets has been associated with operations in Dubai, where its owner has been identified as Jared Esguerra.
Concerns about Tag Markets
The company has also undergone changes in its public-facing leadership. Colombian national Kevin Marin was previously presented as a co-founder and CEO of Tag Markets. More recently, Niklas “Nik” Freihofer has appeared publicly as the company’s CEO.
Quebec is not the only jurisdiction to have raised concerns about Tag Markets. Fraud or investor warnings concerning the company have also been issued by authorities in Russia, Austria and Luxembourg.
Tag Markets’ own website states that the company concentrates on clients in emerging markets, particularly across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Asia and Africa.
Its stated regional focus includes countries such as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Oman, the Philippines, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, Mauritius, Egypt, South Africa and Kenya.
However, website traffic data paints a broader picture of the company’s online reach.
According to SimilarWeb data for August 2026, Tag Markets’ main website received approximately 1.5 million visits during the month, while its associated “IB Portal” domain recorded roughly 624,000 visits.
Germany accounted for approximately 31% of traffic to the main Tag Markets website, followed by the United Kingdom at 7%, Slovenia at 6%, Croatia at 5% and Austria at 5%.
AMF Warnings
Traffic to the “IB Portal” domain came predominantly from Puerto Rico (27%), the Dominican Republic (16%), Germany (12%), the United Kingdom (11%) and India (7%).
These traffic figures suggest that Tag Markets’ online audience extends well beyond the regions identified in its stated regional focus. In particular, the significant levels of traffic originating from European and North American markets raise questions about the company’s actual geographic reach.
The regulatory issue remains more fundamental, however. According to the AMF, Tag Markets is not registered in Quebec to conduct the investment-related activities described in its warning.
Investors should therefore distinguish between Tag Markets’ own representations and the findings or warnings issued by financial regulators.
The AMF warning provides an important regulatory reference point for anyone considering whether to invest through Tag Markets or entities associated with it.
