Taylor Swift’s Twitter Search Has Been Restricted After Viral AI Images Went Viral
(CTN News) – Due to the current controversy over AI deepfakes and Taylor Swift, X, formerly Twitter, has temporarily blocked Taylor Swift’s name from being displayed in the search results.
There is no search box on the app that can be used to find the 34-year-old singer if he is searching for her. There is a message that appears on the screen stating “Something went wrong during the search.”. Try reloading the page if you encounter this error message.
Billboard says Taylor Swift’s official Instagram account is still accessible.
On Instagram, there has been a lot of controversy as a result of explicit, AI-derived images of a Grammy winner that went viral earlier this week.
A source told the Daily Mail that Taylor Swift herself has not yet spoken out about the photos, but the pop star has been considering legal action against the perpetrators in order to prevent other women from suffering the same fate as she did.
“We need to close the door on this,” they insisted with determination.
The practice was also denounced by Internet users, with both SAG-AFTRA and the White House issuing statements of condemnation shortly afterward.
As described by the actor’s union, the image is “upsetting,” “harmful,” and “deeply concerning”.
As they stated in a Taylor Swift statement released on Friday, Jan. 26, “Fake images – particularly those of a lewd nature – must be prohibited from being developed and disseminated without the consent of the individual.”
It was stated by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, “We are alarmed by reports of the circulation of images that have just been published-false images to be more specific-and this is alarming.”
