(CTN News) – On Tuesday afternoon, a man who was clutching a guitar and a sign that read, ‘Free Billie Eilish’, was arrested for trespassing after climbing a TV tower in Hollywood and holding a sign that said ‘Free Billie Eilish.’
As he scaled the 30 feet high KTLA structure on Sunset Boulevard, he proceeded to play his guitar, with officials referring to him as a ‘protester,’ according to KTLA, after which he began playing his guitar.
There is still some confusion as to what the man is really protesting, but the phrase ‘Free Billie Eilish’ has started to trend on Twitter, with many fans questioning the man’s motives.
As of now, Billie herself has not commented on the situation, but she made an appearance on James Corden’s Late Late Show in light of the situation.
What do fans think about the singer being in jail? Do they think he is in jail? The MailOnline website has everything you need to know about…
How did things actually turn out?
In the early hours of Tuesday evening, the Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the KTLA tower in downtown Los Angeles following a report that it had been climbed by a man. After climbing down, he has since returned to the ground.
In order to bring down the man as safely as possible, emergency responders deployed a large inflatable airbag below him.
It was necessary to shut down the roads around the station’s headquarters. As the man was being negotiated with by crisis negotiators, the power to the tower was also shut off.
It was about 30 feet in the air where the man was sitting at the time. He remained there until after midnight, when he decided to come down.
As he climbed down the 162-foot TV tower after midnight, he tossed his guitar on the inflatable before dropping it onto the ground below.
According to CBS 8’s Malik Earnest, the man has been arrested on trespassing charges and that he has been charged with arson.
Do you know if Billie Eilish has addressed the issue?
Billie Eilish has yet to comment on the protester’s ‘Free Billie Eilish’ sign and his comments about the singer.
Her social media activity has been quite active lately, as a couple of hours ago she posted clips of her appearance on The Late Late Show to her Instagram Stories.
Is the singer anywhere to be found?
I do not know if Billie is currently in jail or in any kind of legal trouble at the moment.
In her return to The Late Late Show with James Corden for its final week on CBS on Tuesday, she recalled making her TV debut at age 15 on the show.
During the show, James, 44, asked Billie what she remembered about that day, “I remember that I was very nervous,” she replied.
Her recent appearance at Coachella with Labrinth preceded her interview on the chat show.
