NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing

The NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing is a General Dental Council (GDC) approved and recognised dental nursing qualification which covers all material described in the course syllabus.

The purpose of this qualification is to prepare student dental nurses to work in the dental clinic so they can demonstrate the highest standards in relation to knowledge, skills, and professional attributes.

People who join the dental nursing courses are required to work as trainee dental nurses for the duration of the course, and this allows them to complete the practical assignments called the Records of Experience and their dentist must sign after each assignment.

Students must be happy to work as part of a team and willing to learn.

They must be capable to understand the science behind dentistry. Day to day duties normally include to follow instructions from the dentist and a practice manager.

People can usually work as trainee dental nurses without any academic qualifications but to progress to become a qualified dental nurse, they need to study for a course in dental nursing, either part or full time.
