1st Topgolf In Massachusetts Opens In Canton On Nov. 3

(CTN News) – Almost a year after golf entertainment venue Topgolf announced plans to open its first Massachusetts location, the venue will open to the public early next month in the Boston-area, the company announced.

A Texas-based company announced Thursday it is planning to open a three-level facility along Dedham Street, near Interstate 95, in Canton, Massachusetts, that will be equipped with 90 climate-controlled hitting bays.

A new Topgolf facility will be built on the site of the former Cumberland Farms distribution and manufacturing facility, which is about 20 miles from the heart of downtown Boston.

The new facility will include food, drinks, 200 televisions, music, private rooms, and year-round programming as well. According to company officials, there will be roughly 400 jobs created as a result of the venue.

There are 94 Topgolf locations around the world,

Canton Topgolf being the 94th location.

It is a huge milestone for us to open our first venue in Massachusetts, and we look forward to introducing our style of play to the Boston region,” said Topgolf Chief Operating Officer Gen Gray in Thursday’s announcement.

We have a lot of excitement within the Topgolf family about the upcoming opening of this venue, and we are so excited to see it come to life and get the chance to play there.”

The Dedham Street that runs just outside the property is a traffic-jammed stretch of road and bridge construction that has been lingering for years, resulting in heavy backups that stretch back into residential neighborhoods of Canton just a short walk away.

In order to accomplish that project, the street will be widened, sidewalks will be added, and bridges will be rebuilt over rail tracks, the Neponset River, and Interstate 95.

Prior to this, a temporary Topgolf event was held at Fenway Park, which sold out within just a few days of being announced.
