Snapchat’s Year-End ‘Recap’ Will Launch Globally On December 13th.
(CTN News) – Snapchat has announced its annual Snapchat Recap will be rolled out globally starting tomorrow, December 13.
These recaps will provide users with a retrospective view of the year by categorizing their Snaps into different themes.
For example, categories like “Beach, Please” will showcase snaps captured at the beach or lakes, and “Felt Cute, Will Delete Later” will display the selfies taken throughout the year.
Apart from introducing the recaps, Snapchat also shares insights into how users spent their year on the platform. They revealed that the top places users captured in their Snaps this year were the Dubai Mall, Magic Kingdom Park, the Eiffel Tower, Times Square, and Fenway Park.
Snapchat also witnessed trending Snaps during various moments throughout the year, including Valentine’s Day, Back-to-School season, Halloween, and spring fashion.
Additionally, they disclosed that Baby Cheeks, Anime AI, AI Universe, Sibling, and Goofy Gaze were among the top Lenses used by users this year.
The popularity of end-of-year recaps has grown significantly, thanks to the success of Spotify’s annual Wrapped experience. In line with other platforms such as Apple Music, YouTube, and Reddit, Snapchat has also introduced its end-of-year recap features this month.
Once your recap is prepared, you can find it in the Memories section of the app. Similar to other recap options, you have the choice to share your year-end story with others or save it for personal viewing at a later time.
Snapchat has announced that the Recap will begin rolling out tomorrow, but it’s important to note that not everyone may have immediate access to it.
