Jameson Williams Is One Of 5 NFL Players Suspended For Gambling

(CTN News) – According to the NFL, five players – Jameson Williams, Stanley Berryhill, Quintez Cephus, C.J. Moore, a member of the Detroit Lions, as well as Shaka Toney, a member of the Washington Commanders – have been suspended for violating the league’s gambling policy.

Several players have been suspended by the NFL for the entire 2023 NFL season, including Moore, Cephus, and Toney. There will be a six-game suspension for Jameson Williams and Berryhill.

According to a statement released by the league, Moore, Cephus, and Toney will be able to apply for reinstatement to the league at the end of the 2023 season in order to apply for reinstatement.

It was also determined by the NFL’s investigation that the players were not able to use any “inside information” gathered during their investigation as a result of the information they received from the NFL.

In the season of 2022, there were three different games on which bets were placed on, which were as follows:

Berryhill and Jameson Williams, according to the statement, are “eligible to participate in all preseason and offseason activities, including participation in preseason games.” Their six-game suspensions will be effective following the final roster cutoff day.

As a result of the NFL’s statement on Friday, the Detroit Lions took their own measures following the NFL’s statement, and both Moore and Cephus were released.

It was brought to our attention, through the results of an NFL investigation, that a few of our players had violated the league’s gambling policy, expressed Detroit Lions Executive Vice President and General Manager Brad Holmes in a statement released by the team.

It has been decided that Quintez and C.J. should be discarded from our organization immediately for their decision making behaviors that were inconsistent with our organization’s values and disobeyed league rules.

As a result of Stanley’s and Jameson’s poor decision making, we are disappointed and will work with both players in order to clarify the league’s rules moving forward.

Jameson Williams and Berryhill were found to have placed bets on college games from the team’s facility, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. There was also evidence that the other suspended players had bet on NFL games, which is prohibited under the league’s gambling policy.

In accordance with Tom Pelissero, players may bet on sports, but not on games of the National Football League. In addition, they are prohibited from placing bets on any sport while in NFL venues or facilities.

In response to Calvin Ridley’s reinstatement to the league, the suspensions have been imposed.

It was discovered that Ridley had gambled on games during the 2021 season, and he has been suspended indefinitely as a result. Recently, Ridley was reinstated by the Jacksonville Jaguars and will play in this season’s game.

Jameson Williams released the following statement through his agency following the announcement:
