CEO of Mindful AI Lab Arrested After Son 4 Found Dead from Strangulation

The CEO of Mindful AI Lab, an Indian AI business, has been arrested for the alleged murder of her 4-year-old son, whose remains were discovered inside her luggage.

Suchana Seth, the head of The Mindful AI Lab, was arrested in southern Karnataka on Monday after authorities contacted the taxi driver who was transporting her and asked him to transfer her to the nearest police station, according to Reuters, quoting Goa police official Paresh Naik.

According to Naik, Seth checked into a hotel in Goa state on Saturday, but he was missing when she checked out Monday night, according to Reuters.

Naik informed the news agency that hotel housekeeping workers discovered blood traces in Seth’s room and called authorities.

“When her luggage was opened, the child’s dead body was found,” North Goa Superintendent of Police Nidhin Valsa told Reuters.

The circumstances surrounding the suspected murder are unclear, but according to Indian news website The Week, Seth told police that she and her husband are estranged and divorce proceedings are underway.

Seth has been returned to Goa for alleged interrogation, while her husband, who was in Indonesia at the time of the incident, has been requested to return to India, according to Reuters.
