Quebec’s Global Allure
Givetastic applied a similar methodology to identify the most sought-after cities, states, and regions for emigration due to work-related reasons.
According to Google search volume, Dubai claims the top spot as the most popular city for work-related emigration, being the top search in 69 out of 150 countries.
However, Quebec emerged as a strong contender, securing the top search position in 28 out of 150 countries, including nations like Colombia, Mexico, Morocco, and Cameroon, underscoring the global appeal of the province.
Why Canada?
According to Givetastic’s research, Canada stands out as a top work destination for a diverse range of countries, including Bangladesh, Chile, Ecuador, Kenya, Nigeria, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States.
Canada’s popularity as a work and immigration destination is attributed to several factors. Firstly, the country boasts a high standard of living, providing access to universal healthcare and world-class educational institutions.
Canada is recognized for its safety, peace, and low crime rate, creating a welcoming environment for immigrants and their families.
Moreover, Canada is celebrated for its cultural diversity, emphasizing inclusion and respect for all cultures and religions. This fosters an environment where immigrants can easily settle, integrate into Canadian society, and embrace their new communities.
The country is committed to cultivating a diverse workforce and promoting socio-economic growth through various immigration streams, sponsorship opportunities, and work and study permit programs.
Key immigration programs, such as the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP), grant permanent residency to eligible foreign nationals.
In 2022, Canada set a record by conferring permanent residency upon over 437,000 foreigners in a single year.
On November 1st, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) unveiled the Canadian government’s Immigration Levels Plan for 2024-2026. Canada aims to welcome 485,000 new permanent residents in 2024, 500,000 in 2025, and maintain this level in 2026.
The plan prioritizes economic growth, supports family reunification, responds to humanitarian crises, and acknowledges the significant increase in immigration in recent years.
