A 35-year-old man in Bangkok revealed a horrific story of how he was bitten by a 2 meter long python while he was sitting on the toilet in his two story home. Mr. Thanat Tangtewanont, 35, posted on Facebook pictures of horrific incident.
He said was able to grab and hold the neck of the snake to pull it off before use a toilet brush to hit it and he then pull it out of the toilet.
In an interview with Plus3 News he warned people to be careful. He went on to say that earlier he had encountered the snake in his downstairs bathroom and called for help to catch it several times, but the snake always escaped.
As a precaution, he had closed off the downstairs bathroom and started using the upstairs one instead believing he would be safe in the upstairs bathroom. He said the morning of the attack, he used the upstairs bathroom twice. The first time, around 5 a.m. and everything seemed normal. The second time, around 10 a.m., he flushed the toilet before sitting down and saw the water flow normally.
While sitting and using his phone, he felt something touch his testicles. At first, it felt like an ant bite, so he ignored it. When the bite became stronger and more painful, he stood up and looked down to see a python latched onto him.
In shock, he grabbed its neck and yanked it off. He then tried to pull the snake out of the toilet, he said he fought with the snake for about 10 minutes before hitting it on the head with the toilet brush.
The snake went still for a moment before finally slithering out of the toilet.
He said he recorded a video, intending to show his girlfriend that a snake, which he didn’t think could reach the second floor, had bitten him.
After the snake was on the floor he closed the toilet seat and called a neighbour for help. The neighbour called security for help to remove the snake before rushing him to the hospital.
At the hospital the doctor said he didn’t need stitches but ordered a blood test to check for infections, despite the snake being non-venomous. He said the blood test results came back normal, and he was prescribed antibiotics.
He was still in some pain around the wounded area and was still traumatized when using the bathroom. Even after flushing, he feels scared and now keeps a toilet brush nearby for protection.
