7 More Pneumonia Deaths Reported In Punjab In 24 hours.
(CTN News) – In Punjab, the death toll from pneumonia continues to rise, with seven more children dying of the disease in the past 24 hours as a result of the disease.
There have been a total of 942 pneumonia cases reported across the province in the last 24 hours, according to the Punjab Health Department. Lahore has confirmed has struck 212 new patients in the last 24 hours, according to private news channels.
It has been reported that 244 pneumonia-related deaths have taken place over the course of the current month, with the city of Lahore alone recording 50 deaths. Health experts have attributed this rapid increase in cases and deaths in Punjab to smog pollution caused during the winter months.
In their study, they note that smog, which is prevalent during the winter months, is a significant contributor to the increase in pneumonia cases during those months.
In the most common cases, it is caused by viruses, which is a respiratory infection that affects the lungs. The term pneumonia refers to an infection that affects the lungs.
There are many symptoms that can occur after one has come down with a cold or flu and these can range from mild to severe depending on the severity of the illness. In children younger than five years of age, there is a higher chance of contracting.
A surge in pneumonia cases has been reported in Punjab, which has prompted health authorities to work towards curbing the spread of the disease by educating the public and instituting preventative measures.
