(CTN News) – A fire broke out in the early morning hours of Christmas Day at Beyoncé’s childhood home in Houston, Texas, as confirmed by local authorities.

The current occupants of the residence were fortunately not present when fire officials arrived at the scene, and no injuries were reported, according to information from CBS affiliate KHOU.

The family had already evacuated the premises by the time firefighting crews arrived to battle the flames, which were discovered to have originated on the second floor of the two-story brick home, engulfing it in a significant blaze, as reported by KHOU 11.

The incident was initially reported around 2 a.m. on Monday, with the Houston Fire Department swiftly responding within three to five minutes, as per the Houston Chronicle.

District Chief Justin Barnes stated that the firefighters successfully contained the fire within approximately 10 minutes of their arrival.

The residence, located on the 2400 block of Rosedale, was acquired by Beyoncé Knowles’ family in 1982. Beyoncé herself resided in the home until the age of 5.
