CHIANG RAI – You’re invited to the opening of Glory in Peace, a solo exhibition by Suthisak Soralump, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. The ceremony will be led by Nakhon Phongnoi, director of the Mae Fah Luang Art and Cultural Park.

The exhibition runs from September 26 through October 25, 2026, at Singha Khai House, Modchanaphai Foundation. Gallery hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The venue is closed Mondays. Admission is free.

About the Exhibition

Glory in Peace is Suthisak’s first solo exhibition in Chiang Rai. It is on view from September 26 through October 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The gallery is closed Mondays, and admission is free.

Suthisak Soralump (born 1973) is a professor in the Faculty of Engineering at Kasetsart University. He is an academic specializing in geotechnical engineering and geological hazards, and he chairs the Modchanaphai Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on natural disaster risk management for the public good.

He received the Dushdi Mala Medal with Pin of Arts and Science in Engineering in 2014, as well as the National Outstanding Teacher Award in the Social Service category in 2020.

Alongside his academic work, Suthisak has a strong interest in art as a collector and as director of Singha Khai House, Modchanaphai Foundation. The Chiang Rai cultural venue regularly presents exhibitions by local artists and other notable artists.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Suthisak began creating art himself. Inspired by artist Chuang Moolpinij, he developed a distinctive drawing practice that combines freehand line work with the technical skills he gained through engineering drafting. His work brings together free expression and a structured way of thinking.

Artist Biography

Suthisak Soralump (Bangkok, 1973) is a professional engineer and geologist, a professor in the Faculty of Engineering at Kasetsart University, and an artist. He first learned to draw through engineering drafts. He later taught himself to draw without formal constraints, building on a free approach guided by the systematic thinking he developed in his professional work.

Led consulting teams for the design and improvement of major dams, including Mae Suai Dam in Chiang Rai, Lam Takhong Chonlavatana Dam in Nakhon Ratchasima, and Mor Sor Ruap Dam in Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Helped develop the AP Model landslide warning system for the Department of Mineral Resources.
Developed the VCM system to improve soft clay for housing projects and reduce settlement problems in developments across Bangkok and surrounding areas.
