(CTN News) – A temporary disruption of X (formerly Twitter) was experienced in Pakistan for over an hour after hundreds of users reported to online tracking websites that they were having trouble accessing the microblogging platform’s website and app on Saturday.
Several users nationwide could not access the platform while it was down between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on its website and mobile app for more than an hour. The cause of the crash is not known at this time.
X (Formerly Twitter) Inaccessible During Countrywide Election Results
In the immediate aftermath of the social media platform’s disruption, the nation is waiting to find out what the results of the country’s national election will be.
Approximately 400 users have reported that the X website and app are inaccessible from their computers. According to DownDetector, most complaints were lodged about problems in using X via the app, while 23% were about problems on the website.
There is another online usage tracker, Netblocks, which has also confirmed that the live metrics show a nationwide disruption to X/Twitter across Pakistan due to the attacks.
Despite this, users were still able to access the platform after 5:30pm the following evening.
It was reported earlier that the same type of outage had taken place globally since users could not load new tweets, and many others could only see old ones.

Several users in other countries – including Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkiye and Germany – had reported that Elon Musk’s platform had also caused problems for them.
