Fire Destroys Mattress Warehouse, Damages Nearby Homes
In the early hours of Tuesday, a fire ravaged a mattress warehouse in central Thailand, destroying it and damaging a nearby residence. There were no injuries reported.
Pol Maj Thanaphol Chanthaklin, investigation chief at Khlong Dan police station, told the Bangkok Post that the fire occurred in a warehouse on Soi Charat Phabaek off Sukhumvit Road Sai Kao in the Tambon Khlong Dan of Bang Bo district around 1 am.
A total of 20 fire engines and crews, as well as rescue workers, rushed to the scene.
By the time they arrived, the flames were tightly gripping the warehouse, which contained finished mattress in a box in mattresses as well as the materials necessary to make them. Firefighters had to battle the blaze for more than two hours because a strong wind fanned it.

The warehouse was destroyed as well as the goods in it. Several nearby cars and houses were also damaged.
The warehouse owner’s daughter, Kallasatree Srichot, 24 years old, says a loud noise woke her when she slept in her room in the compound. After stepping outside to investigate, she saw flames roaring through the warehouse loaded with all different types of mattress sizes.
Fortunately, the five people who were in the compound were unharmed at the time and fled to safety.
A police investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire at the mattress in a box warehouse. The extent of the damage has not yet been determined.
