BANGKOK – A taxi and a motorcycle crashed in front of Prachanivet 1 Market, leaving two people dead at the scene. Police said the accident was reported at 12:20 a.m. on March 24, 2026.
Investigators from Prachachuen Police Station went to the scene on Thetsaban Songkhro Road in Lat Yao, Chatuchak, Bangkok. Forensic officers, a duty doctor from Phramongkutklao Hospital, and Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers also joined the inspection.
On the road, officers found the bodies of a man and a woman. Their names and ages were not immediately known. Both had serious head and facial injuries. The man was wearing a white short-sleeved T-shirt and gray long pants.
The woman was dressed in a light blue short-sleeved polo shirt and dark blue denim shorts. Neither carried identification documents.
Nearby, police found a fallen motorcycle with Bangkok license. The motorcycle belonged to the victims. A green-yellow Toyota Corolla taxi, was also found at the scene. The front right side of the taxi was badly damaged, and the rear bumper had come off.
Early findings showed that the taxi and motorcycle were traveling at speed before they struck each other. The rider and passenger on the motorcycle died in the crash.
Police are now checking CCTV footage from the area to piece together what happened. Investigators will also question the taxi driver and send the bodies for autopsy at Phramongkutklao Hospital.
Officers are working to confirm the identities of the two victims before contacting relatives to claim the bodies for funeral rites.
