CHIANG RAI – Cyber Police and local authorities have arrested five individuals suspected of being part of a money mule network connected to the “Boss” gang, a group from Chiang Rai.
Officers made arrests in Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Nonthaburi, collecting over 400,000 baht in cash, a Mercedes-Benz sedan, several mobile phones, multiple bank books and ATM cards. The total loss in these call centre scam cases has reached over 10 million baht, with damages in one Pichit City Police Station case alone standing at 2.2 million baht.
On August 19, 2025, following orders from top commanders including Pol. Lt. Gen. Kitisak Durongkaviboon, Regional 6 Commissioner, Pol. Maj. Gen. Natthawut Pakkapoom, Deputy Commissioner and Pol. Maj. Gen. Detphol Premsiri, Chief of Investigation, along with senior officials, Pol. Col. Sutthiwet Boonyaratnaklin and Pol. Col. Thatchapong Wongpattananiwat, authorities moved forward with the takedown.
Leading the operation were Pol. Col. Suphanat Satakurma, head of Investigation Unit 1 at Division 6, and his deputies Pol. Lt. Col. Jirapat Phetcharat, Pol. Lt. Col. Sitthisak Sudhom, and other officers from the prevention and investigation teams.
The operation executed arrest warrants issued by Pichit Provincial Court (Nos. 227/2568 and 228/2568 on August 14, 2025, and Nos. 216/2568, 201/2568, 202/2568 in early August).
The suspects arrested are Vilasinee Boonta, Thanapon Chewinwongpathom, Kulnapat Thoolkitjai, Paiboon Lakkaew and Thawin (also known as Om) Taweeudomwanich. Authorities charged them with conspiracy to defraud the public, impersonation, using fake data in computer systems, and money laundering.
Seized items include three Krungthai Bank books, three Siam Commercial Bank books, one Kasikorn Bank book, one TMBThanachart Bank book, a Mercedes-Benz C300e sedan and 476,340 baht in cash.
The arrests took place at various locations: a condo unit at The Line Wongsawang in Bang Sue, Bangkok; outside a sign shop at house number 354, Moo 4, Rimkok, Mueang District, Chiang Rai; at Hope Inn Hotel in Chiang Mai’s Chang Phueak area; and in front of house number 331/1, Moo 5, Kokrim, Mueang District, Chiang Rai.
Police transferred the suspects to investigators at Pichit City Police Station so legal proceedings could continue.
