SURAT THANI – Thai immigration police, widening their investigation into a drug trafficking network on Koh Phangan, have arrested a Brazilian suspect, who was found to be delivering drugs to tourists via delivery apps. Authorities seized a large quantity of drugs, including ketamine, ketamine jelly, cocaine, and cannabis resin.
On March 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., Pol. Maj. Gen. Chutharet Yingyongdamrongsakul, Commander of Immigration Division 6, officers on Koh Phangan worked with local sources and scoured CCTV footage, over a tip-off that three more foreigners were linked to drug sales aimed at tourists.

After tracking leads in the area, the investigation team located an Brazilain national near Coconut Lane in Koh Phangan. Officers brought him in to check his accommodation.
Inside, they found a large amount of suspected narcotics, including 389.35 grams of cocaine. Some of the cocaine appeared in cloudy white round lumps, which officers said looked like it had recently been smuggled in and possibly concealed inside the body.
Police also found ecstasy (both powder and tablets), ketamine, and cannabis resin. In addition, officers seized several tools used for dividing and packaging drugs.

They confiscated all items as evidence and arrested the Brazilian on charges related to possession and distribution of narcotics. Police then transferred him to investigators at Koh Phangan Police Station for legal proceedings, while continuing to trace others connected to the network.
Officials said this crackdown follows government policy to take action against transnational crime and foreigners who break Thai law. Authorities also stressed that anyone staying in Thailand who commits an offense will face legal action.
People can report suspicious behavior involving foreigners by calling the Immigration Bureau hotline 1178. Surat Thani Immigration can also be reached at 077-423440, or online at www.suratthaniimmigration.go.th.
