Geoff Seeley Named PayPal's Marketing Head For Cash App, Afterpay

(CTN News) – PayPal has appointed a new chief marketing officer. Geoff Seeley was previously responsible for Cash App and Afterpay marketing.

As of Monday (Feb. 26), Seeley will lead the global marketing team for PayPal and its family of brands, including Venmo.

Diego Scotti, executive vice president and general manager, consumer group and global marketing and communications at PayPal, said in the release that Geoff has a rich and impressive background leading marketing teams and building brands at some of the largest global companies.

According to the release, Seeley has more than 25 years of experience in global brand management, digital marketing and performance marketing.

The release states that he most recently served as global chief marketing officer and chief communication officer at CashApp and Afterpay.

Before joining Airbnb, Seeley worked for Unilever and Airbnb, where he played key roles in brand marketing and communications planning. When he was at Unilever, he focused on transforming legacy brands through the use of new marketing models and technology.

According to the release, Seeley will be responsible for improving PayPal and Venmo’s value propositions, ensuring they are clear, compelling, and simple to use.

It is also stated in the press release that he will focus on revitalizing the and brands by building on the company’s innovative history, strong product portfolio, and continuing to build customer trust.

Earlier this month, Seeley announced on LinkedIn that she would be joining the incredible new leadership team at PayPal as chief marketing officer.

Earlier this year, PayPal named longtime Intuit executive Alex Chriss as its new president and CEO, following a months-long search for a successor to Dan Schulman, who joined in 2014 and led it since it separated from eBay and became an independent public company.

In November 2023, PayPal announced the appointment of three new executives and the division of its business into three new divisions.

At the time, Chriss stated “We are redesigning PayPal with our customers at the center and creating an environment where our teams can go fast and build the best possible products and experiences to meet their needs.”
