On Sunday, August 25, Chiang Rai United hosted the defending champion Buriram United for Matchday 3 of Thailand’s Premier League.

Starting the game at 8 minutes, Buriram United scored the first goal from Lucas Crispim’s long-range right-footed shot in front of the penalty area, which curved into the goal, giving Buriram a 1-0 lead.

In the 18th minute of the match, Singha Chiang Rai had a chance to equalize. Sittichok Kannoo tried to spin with his right foot in front of the left side of the penalty area. Sadly, the ball sailed just over the crossbar.

Buriram United extended the lead to 2-0 in the 20th minute. Guillerme Bissoli lifted the ball over the defender before passing it to Supachai Jaided, who shot from close range to give the away team their second goal of the game. At this moment, the referee raised the flag for offside. Ultimately, the check was not offside, and the goal was awarded to Buriram.

At the end of the first half, both teams tried to move forward and attack each other continuously, but neither could score any more goals. The first half ended with Buriram United leading Singha Chiang Rai United 2-0.

Returning to play in the second half, in the 52nd minute, Buriram United extended the lead when Dion Cools joined the game on the right wing. He passed the ball into the penalty area to Guillerme Bissoli, who shot into the net, giving the Buriram a 3-0 lead.

In the 66th minute, Buriram United continued to score more goals when Pitthawat Sukjitthammakul made a long pass from the left wing into the penalty area for substitute Krigor Moraes, who tried to shoot past Apirak Worawong, Singha Chiang Rai’s goalkeeper, giving Buriram United a 4-0 lead.

In the final minutes of the game, in the 78th minute, Buriram scored a final goal when Lucas Crispim took a long shot in front of the penalty area. The ball was not well-hit and fell to Pansa Hemviboon, who shot inside the penalty area into the net, giving Buriram a 5-0 lead.

After that, there were no more goals. The match ended with Buriram United defeating Singha Chiang Rai United 5-0, earning 9 points from three matches, while the home team still had 3 points from three matches.
