Bangkok Flight LH 772 Diverted to Delhi Airport Due to Husband-Wife Fight Onboard

(CTN News) – On Wednesday, after a detour, a Lufthansa flight from Munich to Bangkok (LH 772) touched down in Delhi. An dispute between a couple aboard the flight is reportedly the likely reason for the detour, but an official announcement is still pending.

Couple’s Argument Prompts Diversion of Munich-Bangkok Flight

Official sources told news agency PTI that a couple got into an altercation on Wednesday, which resulted in the diversion of the Munich-Bangkok Lufthansa flight to Delhi and their subsequent deboarding.

After pilots notified air traffic control of a “situation and possible unruly passenger,” the Lufthansa plane touched down at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport at 10:26 in the morning.

The PTI article states that a German man and his Thai wife got into an altercation, which caused some problems on board the Lufthansa flight. As a result, the plane requested permission to land at IGI, which was granted. The woman reportedly sought assistance from the pilot after complaining to him about her husband’s behavior, claiming she felt “threatened” by him.

Reportedly, as the couple disembarked from the trip, members of the CISF security detail, flight attendants, and other employees approached them in the airport to converse. According to sources, the flight was scheduled to take off again later.

Another incident involving disruptive passengers on a flight has occurred recently. A guy allegedly assaulted a female crew member and caused mayhem aboard Air India flight AI 102 from New York to Delhi last month, according to the Delhi Police.

The victim went to the IGI Airport Police Station in Delhi to file a complaint, and the case was officially recorded on October 1.

Officials have announced that a passenger from Punjab’s Jalandhar, Abhinav Sharma, has been charged with causing a disturbance on the flight and using abusive language towards a female cabin crew member, according to an ANI report.

A member of the flight’s cabin staff allegedly complained that the victim was making derogatory remarks and abusive gestures against other passengers while she was working in the economy-class cabin.

The accused began yelling and assaulting everyone on board after a while. The event prompted the cabin supervisor to issue a verbal and written warning to him.
